This is the first in a series of DVDs recording the seminars of Shihan Chris Rowen, 6th Dan: Student of Hanshi Yamaguchi Gogen 10th Dan, chief instructor at Bunbukan 'Institute of Classical Japanese Budo Culture'. This very popular and well attended seminar features Shihan's seminar at the first ‘Yin and Yang of Karate' - January 2005. As the first seminar, it consists of a brief introduction to subjects that will be covered in depth throughout the series. The DVD includes principles of (Ma-maai), blocks (Uke) and open hand techniques (Kaishu-waza). The second in a series of seminar DVDs featuring Shihan Chris Rowen, 6th Dan, student of Hanshi Yamaguchi Gogen, tenth dan. This DVD follows on from the highly successful first DVD from the Yin and Yang of Karate seminars that Chris taught at along with sensei Iain Abernethy. In a clear and accessible style, Shihan Chris rowen demonstrates the principles and applications of Heishu (closed-hand techniques), such as Uraken (basic fist strike) and Furui Uchi (whipping strike) and gives a brief overview of Kata Sanchin.
